Lena was a high school gymnast when she discovered that her life will always involve gymnastics. She begin her professional coaching career in 1980 as co-owner of a gym from 1980 till 1989. The Thumb Gymnastic Center trained and competed boys and girls under the USGF Program and prepared the students for college level gymnastics with some students obtaining full scholarships. Lena transitioned to a high school gymnastics coach for several years until Thumb Tumblers opened in July 2015, where her years of experience and success are being taught to students every day as a coach.
